[ He doesn't want to lie but he'll keep Dick's secret. Dick has kept Clark's. ]

[ There's a definite pause on his end. Bruce would say no. He knows that. Paranoia before friendship, before everything else when it comes to the work. When it comes to everything in their lives.

But it means something, that Clark would ask at all. That he thinks enough of Dick, enough of the secret he's protecting to give him a say in whether or not he shares it with probably the most important person in the world to him. Someone he trusts with everything. Would he have asked Clark the same, if it was Barbara?

Clark trusts Lois. He's chosen to trust this Clark. Don't the rules have to be different here, for what he's doing now to work? Doesn't it start to throw a wrench into teamwork, into the whole idea of trust itself, to hold it so sacred?

There's no Batman here. No one at risk other than himself.

Clark mentioned you. I'm Lois Lane. [ it feels odd introducing herself like that like it's supposed to mean something to him when she doesn't know him at all, but if what's clark told her is true, he does know her. ]

[ He's already asked something of Dick this week. Although he feels Dick isn't the type to turn him down or count them, Clark doesn't want to be using him as a convenient crutch. It's not fair to him.

[ He doesn't know the Lois of his world well, but now that he's had time to process he's actually pretty eager for the opportunity to question her a little in return. There's a lot he doesn't know about the world they came from. ]

He already has Clark's own trust and gratitude. This seals it in stone. ]

[ Clark doesn't want to have such a personal conversation over text. ]

[ Which conveniently right now is on patrol in a bad section of town. He has the sense that something's wrong, that there's a lot more underneath the request than simple curiosity. But probably He should let him get there in his own way. ]

[ It's telling how quickly he arrives after this message. Clark doesn't go supersonic in the city, however, he's there where he wasn't before. He nods to Dick with unusual reserve, even if he musters a friendly smile for him. It's always good to see Dick.

He's there as promised a little before one, stealing a table off to the side where he can watch the door. ]

That was fast. [ He's not startled exactly, but there's a quick flash of surprise in his face before he breaks into something like his signature grin. The fact that there's nothing physically, evidently wrong kind of makes him worry more.

He sheathes his escrima sticks and steps in closer. ]

Officer Grayson, Officer Grayson! [ Stuff in movies is always twice as urgent when people repeat themselves. Eyes wide, she looks into the camera with alarm. ] We have a break-in through the perimeter and the monster has taken a hostage! [ !!!!! ] The monster is wild, starved, and ... and in my tummy.

[ Don't worry, she wears a tee and shorts to bed. The former is lifted as if she finds merit in examining her middle for a translation, patting it understandingly. ]

Let's go up. [ And he reaches out to grab onto Clark's arm. Probably better to go with the option with almost no chance of interference over the option with a small but distinct chance. ]
