Never gets old.

[ Dick is still beaming when he appears, and whatever Loki he's giving you a hug, past a blink-and-you'll-miss-it flicker of hesitation. ]

[ The tension seeps out of his body once it's apparent he's getting hugged, not hit, something he still has to get used to after a few lifetimes of the latter being more of a constant when people lurched his way, and cool hands slide up Dick's sides to pat him on the back as a result. He runs a couple of degrees cooler than the warm body in his arms. ]

Never knew the offer of pizza had such a strong effect on you.

[ Huffing a soft laugh. Yes, deflection, his second favourite tool next to misdirection. ]

[ Dick holds onto him tight for a second longer, because. Well. Just because. Then he lets him go, all trace of genuine emotion tucked away just in time. ]

I love my anchovies. [ Deflection is a go. ]

I'm buying this time. You've done enough for one week, alright?

[ A jellified arm waves its hand when the pressure lifts, a tingle left in Dick's wake. ]

Sure, sure. Feed me like one of your French girls, Jack!

[ Making his way over to the couch, which he may start rearranging according to his preferred comfort levels. Dick probably didn't have that many cushions to start off with, but ah well. ]

[ Dick doesn't miss that for a second, but he doesn't take it personally as he orders the pizza one-handed, thoughtfully asking for anchovies on only half as he shifts boxes around. And once the phone is hung up: ]

So I might've done myself a favor with the boxes, at least. Been thinking about going out-patient. [ Haha, he's hilarious.

He sags down onto the sofa beside Loki at last, a little loose-limbed with uncharacteristic tiredness. ]

My kid brothers are in town now.

[ikols]

[ A snort answers the joke with Loki sitting at an incline to better face Dick when he mentions brothers, hooking an arm on the back of the couch. ]

And have they been running you ragged? You make them sound like a small army.

More the other way around. [ He admits, which he's ashamed of in a way he can't put into words, so instead he tucks it under a self-deprecating little laugh. ]

But that's kind of why I feel like it's time? They need someone they can count on.

[ And that hadn't been him, for a few weeks there. ]

That's noble, it will also drive them crazy. Good big-brothering technique.

[ Browsing the TV for movies, he glances back to Dick. ]

So, who are they?

[ Dick gives him a bit of a look, but probably he's right, and anyways it's not as if Dick isn't still pretty new at this. He'd be behind the curve even if he hadn't put them through through the wringer these past few weeks.. ]

Tim's is the one I knew from home. He was a kid when I left. [ A little wistfully, which he can't help. Tim isn't a kid now. ]

Damian's, uh- something else.

Reminds me of me at that age. [ Small and angry and desperately needy. ]

I know Tim. Tim Drake-Wayne, yes? He works in R&D as Tony Stark's aide.

[ He spreads his hands. ]

Small world.

Yeah, he does. [ His smile goes pleased and a little soft. He adores Tim. ]
